‘WATCH’—Ava(Jul 02, 2020)—“FullMovie”:Literaturethat`srootedin,inspiredby,orthatforsomereasondrawsfromthetropes,themesandsymbolismofmyth,folklore,andfairytales.[3]ThetermiswidelycreditedtoCharlesdeLintandTerriWindling.Mythicfictionoverlapswithurbanfantasyandtheconditionsaresometimesusedinterchangeably,butmythicfictionalsocontainscontemporaryworksinnon-urbansettings.Mythicfictionreferstoworksofmodernliteraturethatoftencrossthedividebetweenliteraryandfantasyfiction.

Inmoresupportingroles,seasonedtalentslikeactorGarySinise(ForestGumpandApollo)andmusiciansingerShaniaTwainplayJeremey’sparents,TomandTerryCamp.WhilebothSiniseandTwainaresuitedtotheirrolesasasortofsmalltown/Midwestcouplevibe,theircharactersarebitmorethanwindowdressingforthefeature’sstory.Theirscreenoccurrence/starpowerlendsweightotheproject,butthat’svirtuallyit;offeringupafewnuetstobolsterafewparticularscenesoccasionally,whichisdisappointing.Everybodyelse,includingactorNathanParsons(GeneralHospitalandNadia:TheSecretofBlueWater)asmusicaltalentandmutualfriendtobothJeremyandMelissa,Jean-LucLajoie,youngactorReubenDodd(TheBridgeandTeachers)asJeremy’shandicappedyoungerbrother,JoshuaCamp,andhisotheryoungerbrother,JaredCamp(thoughIcan’tfindoutwhoplayedhimthemovie),arerelativelymadeupinsmallerminorrolesthat,whileactedfine,arereducedtolittlemorethanjustunderdevelopedcaricaturesinthefilm,whichisashameanddisappointing.
